Families with children will enjoy the scavenger hunts, the model train, discovery backpacks, hands-on Library activities, and more.

Guest are delighted to find dramatic beauty of the winterscape as trees and shrubs show their structure, wildlife digs in for the winter, and 18th century stone walls appear as if out of a Robert Frost poem. Visiting during the day in December is an easy way to skip the crowds to enjoy lunch with friends, pick up gifts for family and friends, or escape the dropping temperatures by basking in the greenery — and blooming flowers! — of our subtropical conservatories.

NIGHT LIGHTS FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Guests should expect a walking experience outdoors through roughly 15 acres of formal gardens and surrounding woodlands, including illuminated plants, paths, sculptures, and fountains. The magical scene is enhanced with fire pits for warming up, making s’mores, or enjoying a cup of hot cocoa or an adult beverage.

Inside, visitors can step out of the elements to investigate our model train village, explore our indoor garden conservatories, enjoy freshly prepared fare at our Café, and peruse our specialty-curated Garden Shop for one-of-a-kind, nature-themed finds.

The display is beautiful every night! We anticipate selling out for most peak evenings. If your schedule allows, we recommend visiting on a non-peak evening. Also, snowy or drizzly nights may be cold and wet, but they make for great photos and the lights have an extra sparkle!
Night Lights ticket prices vary depending on which day you choose to visit. Please visit our ticket page for more information.

Tower Hill is open for the evening visits on Tuesdays – Thursdays, 4 p.m. – 9 p.m., and Fridays – Sundays, 4 p. m. – 10 p.m.   Pre-purchased tickets are required for evening admission.  Tickets are not available at the gate.

Tower Hill is closed on Mondays, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, and Tuesdays until 4pm.

Operators are happy to assist you by calling (866) 971-0969. Operators available Mondays to Saturdays 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays noon to 8 p.m.

The time on your ticket is when you should plan to drive onto Tower Hill property. Visitor tickets will be checked from your car at the gate before you are directed to the parking lot. Please plan accordingly as Tower Hill cannot accommodate early arrivals or those waiting for the rest of their party to arrive. Those arriving more than 30 minutes late may forfeit entry.  No tickets will be available to purchase at the gate.

All evening visitors do need to pre-purchase their tickets online. Many evenings and timeslots will sell out quickly. However, you may also place your ticket order over the phone by calling (866) 971-0969 or in-person at the Garden during a day time visit.  For phone and in-person purchases a $2.50 per transaction fee will be charged.

For evening tickets, to speed up entry, we ask that you print your tickets and have them ready to hand to our staff when you drive onto our property. Your tickets will be scanned as you enter the property before our staff direct you to a parking space. If you are unable to print your tickets you may present the PDF of your tickets on your smartphone so long as we are able to scan the barcode. If you are unable to print your tickets and do not have a smartphone, we can always look up your tickets, but this is a slower option.

Tower Hill Members save 50% on evening tickets for Night Lights. Learn more about membership here. Purchase your membership and your Night Lights tickets together to instantly receive your member discount.

Night Lights ticket prices vary depending on the day of the visit.  Please visit our ticket page for more information. The evening hours of Night Lights are a special event and no gate passes, library passes, or any other general admission discounts apply.

Group discounts for evening visits are available for groups of 20 or more arriving by bus as long as the bus does not remain on Tower Hill property during your visit. Groups of 20 or more save 20% on admission to Night Lights. Group discounted tickets must be purchased at least 7 days in advance. Please contact Suzanne Hauerstein at 508.869.6111 x175 or shauerstein@towerhillbg.org for more information.

When you purchase your tickets, you will need to create a Freshtix account using the email address associated with your Tower Hill membership. Members should not use the Facebook log in option. If you purchased tickets online last year, you created a log in and the information will be the same.

Members will also need to know their membership number and the email address associated with their membership in order to receive their member discount.  Click here to learn where to find your member number.

And in the evenings, weather permitting, anyone who is young at heart will want to roast marshmallows for s’mores at one of our firepits.

No, the property will be closed from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. This includes the gardens, gate, parking, grounds, and buildings. Daytime entry ends at 2:30 p.m. and entry after 4 p.m. requires a separate pre-purchased ticket.  All daytime visitors must leave the property by 3 p.m.

At a separate concession stand visitors will find warm apple cider donuts, creative Kayem hot dogs, and hot beverages, such as mulled cider, to sip while strolling the property. The concession stand will be open 4–8pm on Tuesday through Thursday, and 4–9pm on Friday and Saturday. Please view the concession stand menu here. Also, don’t miss the chance to make s’mores over an open flame in the Winter Garden.

Night Lights is a rain, snow, or shine by starlight event. Due to the nature of our garden paths, some areas may not be cleared of snow or ice and some activities may be limited on windy days. Please dress appropriately for the elements. If you have purchased tickets for a specific evening and Tower Hill closes that evening due to extreme weather, you will be contacted in advance through the email address that you entered when you purchased your tickets and a refund will be issued. All other tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.

Tickets are non-refundable and cannot be used for a different date or time. Our ticketing system, which is critical in controlling the flow of traffic and improving the visitor experience for thousands of guests in a short time span, cannot process individual refunds or changing to a different time slot, much like tickets to a sports event or theater performance. This special event, which occurs outside our regular hours of operation, is crucial in funding the year-round operation of our nonprofit garden. If you cannot attend at the time for which you purchased your tickets, you have several options:

  1. You can give your tickets to another individual(s). Please note that member, child, youth, and senior tickets may only be redeemed for a single ticketed admission of equal or lesser value.
  2. You can choose to return your tickets to Tower Hill as a donation to our nonprofit, receiving a tax-deductible receipt in return. You must email the Advancement office by Dec. 30, 2018, to apply for this option.
  3. Visitors can choose to redeem an unused Winter Reimagined ticket for a single daytime admission of equal or lesser value through Dec. 30, 2018, by showing their unused tickets to the Entry Gate staff. Members can exchange each unused Night Lights ticket to bring a non-member guest during daytime hours until Dec. 30, 2018. For example, an unused member adult ticket can be exchanged for an adult daytime admission, a senior for a senior, etc.

None of these options will result in cash or credit card refunds for unused ticket purchase price.
