Margaret McCandless is a New Englnd folk musician based in Massachusetts, performing for many years at museums, schools, and festivals regionally. On banjo, concertina, and guitar, Margaret shares ballads, forebitters, chanteys, harvest-ditties, and other old songs. For medieval and Renaissance performances, Margaret includes harp, hurdy-gurdy, kemmence, chalumeau, horns, two Recorders at once, and more. For family-sing-alongs, Margaret shares the choruses or call-and-response lines, and invites participants to feel at ease. Singing is a rich way to belong with other people, and Margaret enjoys helping that happen.

This December, Margaret McCandless returns to Tower Hill bringing songs of the season. All ages are welcome to join this sing-along. With banjo, concertina, and guitar, Margaret leads an array of folk songs and ballads with a focus on winter readiness, animal homes, food storage, and patterns in nature. Some songs are new, and some songs are hundreds of years old, such as The Fox; all easy and fun to sing together. Please join us!
