Bittersweet news: The Wild Rumpus exhibit will be coming down in early April.
It’s been an unforgettable experience sharing the Stickwork sculpture by artist Patrick Dougherty with visitors over these last couple years. Alas, the sticks have become brittle and are finally breaking, seemingly eager to return to the earth from where they came.
Patrick’s displays are always intended to be temporary after all, and perhaps that adds to the magic of them, like a sunset, sand sculpture, or snowman. They exist, provide joy, instill a sense of wonder, and then they’re gone – like a beautiful bloom – making space for the next ephemeral inspiration to take their place.
Visit soon to see the Wild Rumpus again or for the first time!
