Imagine you’re in the fashion industry. It’s mid-winter in New England. And you’re working on your spring clothing line.

Who you gonna call?

New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill!

Word has begun to spread that our botanic garden’s towering, sub-tropical conservatories are the place to find spring amid the bleakness of winter in the Northeast.

When Rue La La, a national online shopping destination offering best-selling brands for discounted prices, inquired about spending a day last week in the Orangerie and Limonaia, we began a collaboration that would help New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill connect more people to plants while giving their images a sense of spring. A win-win.

Looking behind the scenes you can see the cohesive and professional team it takes to conduct such a shoot complete with models, photographers, art directors, prop assistants and more.

For us at New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill, it’s all about the plants. How can we tell more people that these beautiful, fascinating, and rejuvenating plants are here for them just a short drive from Boston, Providence, Springfield, and Manchester, N.H.? An indoor fashion shoot with Rue La La, or a similar partnership we had with the Improper Bostonian a couple years ago, helps us reach new audiences and to encourage them to become plant lovers too.
