Tower Hill has responded to the need for greater education and support of universally accessible gardening by establishing The Court: A Garden Within Reach. The new garden fits with Tower Hill’s goal to be a welcoming, natural space where visitors of all ages, abilities and backgrounds can learn the value of plants in our world. The Court is a universally accessible space for peace, beauty and learning, featuring signature Tower Hill plantings, innovative moveable planters and other elements that represent solutions for mobility-challenged gardeners.
This space is named for Robert Courtemanche, who was a generous supporter of Tower Hill beginning in the late 1990s. Mr. Courtemanche became a member and generous donor, attending events and concerts and eventually holding a seat on Tower Hill’s Board and Investment Committee. He was the largest donor to the funding campaign behind the Garden Within Reach, believing in its goal of bringing all people closer to nature. It wouldn’t be what it is today without his thoughtful generosity.
