Just when New Englanders could use a break from winter and a taste of spring, Tower Hill Botanic Garden offers Winter In Bloom, five weekends of flowers, fun, and plant-focused festivities.
Beginning Feb. 4 and 5, Tower Hill, a nonprofit dedicated to connecting people and plants, will offer expert guest speakers, hands-on workshops, film screenings, conservatory tours, and more. Each weekend through March 4 and 5 will feature a different flower show as well as activities for all ages. Visitors can also enjoy Twigs Cafe, art exhibits, the Garden Shop, and short Tower Hill videos in the theater.
Last winter, more visitors than ever discovered there is no better place in February to escape the cold weather than Tower Hill. There is no need to travel south for a respite because Tower Hill offers two towering conservatories filled with lush green plants, many in bloom and some with ripening fruit. The rich colors and fragrances of each weekend offer stimulation for the senses not only for flowers lovers, but for all those seeking a break from chilly temperatures and a reminder that spring’s beauty will return once again.
Plant- and flower-inspired, kid-friendly activities take center stage during February’s school vacation week offering an educational and fun daytrip multiple generations can enjoy together. Daily vacation activities will include scavenger hunts, crafts, library programs, story time, and more.
The week leading up to and following Valentine’s Day is also a popular time to visit as fresh flowers and the holiday go hand in hand.
